El parque fue inaugurado el pasado miércoles por el presidente Luis Abinader y Fellito Suberví, director de la CAASD
Santo Domingo. – Decenas de niños, jóvenes, adultos y adultos mayores están disfrutando de las nuevas instalaciones que ofrece el espacio ambiental Cristo Park, inaugurado recientemente por el presidente de la República, Luis Abinader y el director general de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), Fellito Suberví, en la populosa barriada de Cristo Rey.
Residentes del lugar y de zonas cercanas participaron en las diferentes actividades festivas que preparó la institución durante los días posteriores a la apertura oficial, con música en vivo, globos inflables, payasos, juegos deportivos, entretenimiento y, por las noches, un cierre con fuegos artificiales.
Fellito Suberví dijo sentirse muy contento de haber resuelto un problema ambiental y de salubridad que afectaba esta área por décadas, sin que ningún gobierno anterior le diera solución. “Hoy, este espacio degradado es el escenario de un moderno, digno y seguro parque de entretenimiento para el disfrute de toda la familia”.
El funcionario pidió a los comunitarios cuidar el espacio y mantenerlo limpio de desechos sólidos para que puedan aprovecharlo siempre. “Le dejamos un parque con todas las herramientas para que se mantenga limpio y aporte a una mejor calidad de vida física y mental de la gente que vive en estos entornos”, precisó Fellito.
Cristo Park fue construido encima de la cañada Tiradentes de 1.5 kilómetros de largo que, por años, fue un nido de vándalos, aguas residuales, basura y escombros, convertido en un atractivo parque para la posteridad. Cuenta con canchas de voleibol, basquetbol, soccer, gimnasio, áreas de juegos infantiles, ciclovía, glorieta, anfiteatro, vivero, destacamento de policías, baños y parqueos.
También cuenta con imbornales, cisterna, pozo, aspersores de riego, árboles de varias especies y una vista panorámica vibrante, compuesta por los asentamientos urbanos de la zona, cuyas fachadas de las casas fueron pintadas en colores que impregnan luz y alegría al lugar.
