Alejandro Montàs hizo la revelación durante su participación en la Conferencia “Agua: Una Responsabilidad Colectiva para el Desarrollo Sostenible”, celebrada en el Ministerio de Relaciones exteriores.
SANTO DOMINGO.- El director general de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo, arquitecto Alejandro Montás, reveló que en los años de Gobierno del Presidente Danilo Medina se han invertido, a través de la CAASD RD$5,625,289.75 en reforzamiento y rehabilitación de sistemas de agua potable con más de 100 obras terminadas que benefician a 2,500,000 habitantes.
“La CAASD cuenta con un total de 203 obras vinculadas con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible, con un monto total de inversión superior a los 12,000 millones de pesos”, manifestó el arquitecto Montás durante su participación en la Conferencia “Agua: Una Responsabilidad Colectiva para el Desarrollo Sostenible”, en la que participaron expertos de diferentes organismos internacionales.
Entre las principales ejecutorias de la CAASD, durante su gestión Montás destacó la construcción y rehabilitación de los componentes del Acueducto Oriental, mejoramiento de las plantas de tratamiento de agua potable Valdesia, Haina Manoguayabo y la Isabela; y la rehabilitación y ampliación de campos de pozos, dentro de los cuales citó Lecherías, La Joya, Los Marenos, Sabana Pérdida Y Mata Mamón.
Además destacó la construcción del sistema de abastecimiento, recolección y disposición de las Aguas Residuales Ciudad Juan Bosch, la Rehabilitación y acondicionamiento de grandes depósitos de almacenamiento, el saneamiento de 12 grandes cañadas; la rehabilitación de 10 plantas de tratamiento y la Construcción de la Estación Depuradora La Zurza.
Durante su conferencia en el Salón de Convenciones del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, el director de la CAASD explicó los indicadores de logros del Plan Nacional Multianual de sector público, destacando que el acceso de Agua Potable de las viviendas conectadas fue incrementado en un 18 por ciento al pasar de un 69% en 2012 a un 87% en 2018.
“En estos seis años hemos extendido el acceso de Agua Potable de la población de 89 a un 96%; mientras que en materia de saneamiento de Agua Residuales en lo que se refiere a las aguas tratadas vertidas en los afluentes pasamos de 3% a un 6% y la meta para el 2019 es de un 20%”, precisó Montás.
Agregò que el acceso al Saneamiento de Agua Residuales de hogares con conexiones de alcantarillado se colocó en un 10 por ciento más alto que en 2012, al pasar de un 16% a un 26%.
Alejandro Montás informó que la CAASD trabaja en la implementación de programas de mejoras de la eficiencia operativa, para aumentar la producción, así como el mantenimiento electromecánico a equipos de bombeo y la rehabilitación de redes obsoletas.
“Además trabajamos en el Plan de sectorización, la instalación de Macro y Micro medidores, estamos dando prioridad a las fuentes alternativas y empezaremos a implementar programas para eficientizar la gestión comercial”, indicó Montás.
