Ambas instituciones aúnan esfuerzos en beneficio de los habitantes del sector de Guajimía y sectores aledaños.
Santo domingo. – La Embajada de Canadá en colaboración con la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) llevó a cabo su segunda jornada odontológica gratuita en beneficio de los comunitarios del sector Guajimía, en Santo Domingo Oeste, con el objetivo de contribuir con a la higiene y estética dental de esta población.
La jornada, que contó con la presencia de la nueva embajadora de Canadá en el país, Jacqueline DeLima Baril, el director del proyecto de la CAASD, Enrique Tiburcio y la encargada de Gestión Social y Ambiental de la CAASD, Lidia Alexandra Oviedo, ofreció a la referida demarcación servicios odontológicos como extracciones, restauraciones, limpiezas y tratamientos básicos fundamentales en la salud bucal.
En este sentido, la encargada del proyecto, la doctora Veronique Behamou, indicó que esta jornada estuvo integrada por cinco odontólogos, nueve asistentes, un técnico dental, un psicólogo y Luc Madeline, director de Helios Group, quienes forman parte de la facultad de Salud de la universidad canadiense McGill University.
El operativo atendió a más de 400 personas incluyendo niños. La jornada odontológica fue inspeccionada por el área VII de Salud pública.
Remozamiento en Guajimía
La CAASD, de la mano de su director, Felipe Suberví –Fellito-, ha impactado de manera integral la calidad de vida de las familias que residen en el sector de Guajimía, a través del plan de saneamiento pluvial y sanitario definitivo de 5.4 kilómetros de la cañada de esta demarcación.
Suberví destacó la importancia del remozamiento de la cañada que beneficia a más de 350 mil habitantes de los entornos y que conectan con los afluentes El Indio, Buenos Aires, La Ureña, Los Olivos y Las Caobas. Previo a estos trabajos se realizaron estudios sobre el impacto medioambiental y social.
Expresó que el gobierno está haciendo historia en materia de saneamiento de cañadas, resaltando que cada una de las acciones realizadas en la gestión del presidente Luis Abinader busca mejorar la calidad de vida de los dominicanos y brindarles más oportunidades.
