Santo Domingo. – La Corporación de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) conmemoró este lunes 8 de marzo el Día Internacional de la Mujer, con un acto en el que destacó la ardua labor que a diario realizan las heroínas de la institución estatal.
Al encabezar la actividad, el director general de la CAASD, ingeniero Felipe Suberví resaltó el desempeño de las féminas que salen todos los días para llevar el sustento a sus hogares, así como también las que se quedan a cargo del cuidado de sus hijos y quehaceres cotidianos.
“Hoy celebramos la lucha y valentía inalcanzable de esas emprendedoras que se levantan cada mañana, que son el sustento de su familia y un ejemplo para la sociedad dominicana”, manifestó Suberví.
Así mismo recalcó el talento de la mujer, como ser único e incomparable cuya finalidad en la tierra al igual que el agua es dar vida.
“Creemos en el talento y en la diversidad de ese ser maravilloso, lleno de luz, que con amor y dedicación realizan sus labores cotidianas, dejando huellas y rompiendo los estereotipos que le interponen la sociedad”, indicó el funcionario.
Exhortó a las féminas a no perder el norte de sus metas por más grande que se vean las barreras o limitaciones, que en ocasiones pueden ser sociales, culturales, de género, económicas, laborales, entre otras.
Recordó que, con tan merecido mérito, cada día 8 de marzo el mundo rememora el Día de la Mujer, declarado así por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) en el año de 1977. Fecha que recapitula la lucha por la igualdad en una sociedad machista y por su desarrollo integro como persona.
Destacó algunas de las mujeres dominicanas que aportaron en diferentes ámbitos como es educación, protección al campesino, representación del país y defensa por la libertad, la vocación patriótica y la Independencia Nacional.
Entre las que resaltó a María Trinidad Sánchez, Juana Trinidad (Saltitopa), Salomé Ureña de Henríquez, Ercilia Pepín, Trina Moya de Vásquez y María Montes.
Así como también a las hermanas Mirabal, Carmen Josefina Lora (Pinky) y Florinda Soriano Muñoz (Mamá Tingo).
Resaltó el papel desempeñado en la historia reciente de varias mujeres, cuyos logros han llegado hasta la vicepresidencia de la República, ellas son: Milagros Ortiz Boch, Margarita Cedeño de Fernández y Raquel Peña, quien actualmente desempeña el cargo.
En ese mismo orden, expresó que la Corporación de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo, cuenta con una amplia participación de mujeres al frente de direcciones en esa institución, lo que confirma la confianza y el apoyo que se les brinda al género por su desempeño.
¡Que viva la mujer dominicana y todas las mujeres del mundo¡, concluyó el director de la CAASD.
Durante el evento fueron agasajadas colaboradoras de la entidad del Gobierno.
