Santo Domingo.- Decenas de empleados del Hospital Municipal Doctor Jacinto Ignacio Mañón, en el sector Los Girasoles del Distrito Nacional, fueron orientados a través del programa «Cultura del agua” que realiza la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), a fin de que los ciudadanos se comprometan a hacer uso responsable del preciado líquido.
Al iniciar la actividad, la representante del departamento de Desarrollo y Promoción Social de la CAASD, Elizabeth Sánchez, resaltó que el director de esta entidad, arquitecto Alejandro Montás, ha mostrado un gran interés porque el citado programa educativo sea expandido a los diferentes sectores del Gran Santo Domingo.
De esta manera, Sánchez se refirió a la interrupción del ciclo del agua. “Nosotros interrumpimos cuando contaminamos el medio ambiente, nuestra aguas y árboles, en ese momento es cuando interrumpimos la formación de esas fuentes de agua que nos suplen y abastecen”, precisó.
En la jornada educativa fueron abordados los temas: ciclo natural del agua, proceso de potabilización, sequía, contaminación, facturación e importancia del líquido como recurso económico e industrial.
La doctora Mónica Colón manifestó que pondrá en práctica los conocimientos adquiridos en la jornada y que está motivada a compartir el mensaje con vecinos y amigos.
“La charla me pareció excelente; así como dijeron en la exposición, el manejo del agua tiene que ver con la salud, hay mal manejo y eso nos afecta a nosotros como guardianes de la salud y del agua”, añadió el interno de medicina Fulcker Quevedo.
El programa “Cultura del agua” tiene por finalidad orientar a los ciudadanos sobre el uso adecuado del preciado líquido, así como como proteger los demás recursos naturales.
