La institución se encuentra en la fase final de la interconexión de los acueductos Barrera de Salinidad y El Tamarindo, el cual beneficiará amplias localidades del municipio Santo Domingo Este
Santo Domingo. – La Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) corrigió averías en líneas de agua potable de diferentes diámetros y realizó 9,639 intervenciones en la red de alcantarillado sanitario, en la semana que recién finalizó, a fin de continuar con las mejoras de los servicios a la ciudadanía.
El director general de la CAASD, ingeniero Felipe Suberví, informó que también dieron mantenimiento a 125 registros externos y a 133 acometidas, limpiaron 168 registros internos, intervinieron diez válvulas y detectaron fugas no visibles en diferentes sectores del Gran Santo Domingo.
Suberví manifestó que las brigadas de la CAASD laboran a plena capacidad, a beneficio de la población. “Aun en medio del COVID-19, nuestros equipos no han parado sus trabajos, todos los días, las 24 horas del día, de manera que estas correcciones se traducen en mejoría del servicio”, indicó.
El funcionario agregó que los sectores favorecidos con las correcciones de averías esta última semana fueron: Ensanche La Fe, Pantoja, Cerros de Arroyo Hondo, Capotillo, Mirador del Oeste, Manoguayabo, Alma Rosa, ensanche Ozama, El Cristal, Villa Mella, entre muchos otros.
Asimismo, indicó que el personal de alcantarillado sanitario efectuó 18 desobstrucciones en la red y destacó las realizadas en la calle César Canó, sector El Millón, y la de la calle Rafael Augusto Sánchez, del ensanche Quisqueya, ambas en el Distrito Nacional.

Sobre la producción de agua potable que sirve la CAASD a la ciudadanía, el ingeniero Felipe Suberví detalló que se ubica en 403 millones de galones de por día, y que en la última semana osciló entre los 400 millones y 415 millones de galones diarios, gracias a que los ríos que sirven de fuentes a los principales acueductos de la institución mantienen suficiente caudal.
“Esto es debido a las lluvias que han ocurrido en la capital y, fundamentalmente, en la cuenca alta de los ríos Nizao, Ozama, Haina, Duey, Isabela e Isa Mana”, indicó.
