Felipe Suberví explicó que las tapas hechas en fibra de vidrio reforzado para evitar que sean robadas para ser vendidas.
Santo Domingo. -El director general de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), ingeniero Felipe Suberví, presentó las nuevas tapas que estarán siendo colocadas en los registros sanitarios del Gran Santo Domingo, con el objetivo de velar por la seguridad de la ciudadanía y la integridad de la infraestructura del alcantarillado.
El funcionario explicó que las nuevas tapas fueron construidas en fibra de vidrio reforzado, muy funcionales y resistentes al tráfico pesado, además de poseer un sistema de seguridad para evitar que sean robadas.
Dijo, además, que este material no representa un atractivo para los desaprensivos que se han dado a la tarea de robarse las que son de hierro fundido para venderlas, poniendo en peligro la vida de las personas que transitan a pie y las redes de distribución de agua potable y el alcantarillado sanitario.
“La función de estas tapas es permitir que las cámaras de inspección, los registros de agua potable y alcantarillado sanitario no estén abiertos y sirvan para darles el mantenimiento cuando se requiera a las redes de alcantarillado, además de ofrecer mayor seguridad a las personas y vehículos”, expresó Suberví.
El director de la CAASD, informó durante una rueda de prensa realizada en la institución, que el programa de cambio de las tapas del sistema del alcantarillado sanitario iniciará en esta etapa en las principales vías del Distrito Nacional, pero que la idea es abarcar el Gran Santo Domingo.
Aseguró que el robo de las tapas de registros han sido una de las principales preocupaciones de esta gestión que ha visto como esto representa un peligro para quienes circulan a pie en la ciudad, además de provocar daños en las gomas de los vehículos, ralentizar el tráfico y crear taponamientos en las vías.
“Las tapas de alcantarillas han sido siempre fabricadas de hierro fundido, siendo vulneradas por vándalos para venderlos como hierro viejo en lugares que operan de forma ilegal”, se quejó.
Explicó que el problema no es por dejadez del gobierno, sino que es un problema de ciudadanos irresponsables que las roban para venderlas.
“Para nosotros, cambiar las tapas es muy importante, porque estamos llevando seguridad a estudiantes, niños, niñas, adultos mayores y personas con discapacidad que diariamente transitan por nuestras calles y se exponen a caer en la alcantarilla y hasta fracturarse, y lo bueno es que las mismas no puedan ser robadas”, precisó el director de la CAASD.
