El servicio de agua potable en los 60 sectores afectados queda restablecido. Santo Domingo. – El ingeniero Felipe Suberví, director general de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), informó que en la madrugada de este jueves quedó resuelta la avería ocurrida en el sistema Valdesia, y con ello, se restablece el servicio del agua potable en los sectores afectados.
Tras los trabajos de excavación realizados por una empresa privada en el sector de Los Ríos, en el Distrito Nacional, fue perforada el pasado domingo una de las líneas que abastece con más de 70 millones de galones diarios a unos 60 sectores de la provincia.
“Gracias a la ardua labor de nuestro equipo hemos solucionado en tiempo récord la avería producida, es importante que la población esté enterada que el servicio del agua está garantizado”, puntualizó Suberví.
El funcionario estuvo supervisando directamente los trabajos que día y noche realizaron los colaboradores de la CAASD, quienes se vieron precisados a implementar el uso de maquinarias como retroexcavadora, retromartillo y compresores, dada la complejidad de la avería ocasionada.
Se tuvo que retirar una capa protectora de hormigón armado de 20 centímetros de espesor, extraer el agua de las líneas, limpiar el área de trabajo y proceder a descubrir otra capa de 60 centímetros, y finalmente, tomar las medidas y elaborar la pieza que fue colocada y que dio solución de manera definitiva a esta situación.
Aunque el director de la Corporación informó que desde ya el servicio queda habilitado, advirtió que es necesario entender que un daño de esta magnitud deja totalmente vacías las líneas abastecedoras de los sectores afectados, por tanto, las tuberías deben presurizarse para que se restablezca el servicio a toda capacidad. La presión es tan baja que lo que caen son gotas en la cisterna, y esa es la toma más baja de la casa. Los vecinos tienen la misma situación o peor, no le llega nada de agua.
