Alejandro Montás informa todos los acueductos funcionan de forma óptima tras superar efectos de Isaías
Santo Domingo.- La Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) registra este martes una producción de 405 millones de galones de agua potable por día, tras la entrada en operación del sistema Duey, el cual salió de servicio ante los efectos de las lluvias del ciclón tropical Isaías a su paso por el país.
El director general de la CAASD, arquitecto Alejandro Montás, precisó que todos los sistemas de la institución están funcionando a plena capacidad, incluidos los campos de pozos que posee, gracias a las precipitaciones del fenómeno climatológico.
La producción diaria del preciado líquido se ubicaba ayer en 370 millones de galones y, en este sentido, Montás señaló que “este aumento garantiza un servicio estable durante los próximos días para el Gran Santo Domingo”.
El funcionario recordó que el incremento en los niveles de turbidez del afluente de que se suple el sistema Duey provocó su salida de operación, sumada a la gran cantidad de escombros que arrastraron sus aguas, por lo que personal de la CAASD se empleó a fondo para solucionar la situación a la mayor brevedad.
La entrada en funcionamiento de Duey mejorará el servicio que reciben los sectores ubicados en: Los Alcarrizos, Pedro Brand, en la avenida República de Colombia, Arroyo Hondo III, entre otros.
Alejandro Montás exhortó a la población a usar racionalmente el agua que le está siendo servida producto de esta mejoría, tras una extensa sequía de poco más de dos años, ya que es un ejercicio saludable de ciudadanía responsable que debe ser una acción constante de todos.
