Alejandro Montás informa que la CAASD produce 380 millones de galones diarios de agua potable para el GSD
Santo Domingo.- El presidente Danilo Medina realizó este domingo una visita sorpresa a la Estación de Bombeo de la Planta de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales del Río Ozama /Mirador Norte La Zurza, puesta en funcionamiento hace aproximadamente dos meses, obra a cargo de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), dirigida por el arquitecto Alejandro Montás.
Durante la visita de supervisión, el mandatario constató el funcionamiento del cárcamo de bombeo de la planta, que beneficia la salud preventiva de 450,000 residentes en el Gran Santo Domingo y contribuye al saneamiento de los ríos Ozama e Isabela.
El presidente Danilo Medina recorrió todos los componentes de dicha estación de bombeo, acompañado del director general de la CAASD, arquitecto Alejandro Montás, y del asistente personal del gobernante, Robert de la Cruz.
Producción de agua y trabajos de la CAASD
Tras la visita sorpresa del presidente Medina, Alejandro Montás informó que la CAASD registra una producción de 380 millones de galones diarios de agua potable, lo que significa una ligera mejoría en relación a días anteriores.
El director Montás precisó que la noche del jueves llovió ligeramente en las cuencas de los ríos Ozama y Haina, por lo que se produjo un incremento en el agua disponible.
Montás agregó que el Acueducto Oriental o Barrera de Salinidad opera con cuatro equipos de seis que pueden trabajar en condiciones normales.
Sin embargo, aclaró que “las condiciones climáticas han cambiado, ha dejado de llover, y eso no permanecerá por mucho tiempo. Por lo tanto, mantenemos el llamado a la población para que economice el agua”.
“Tenemos un servicio en la parte este (Santo Domingo Este) con cierta mejoría, pero es necesario que las personas usen con conciencia el agua que le estamos sirviendo y la ahorren lo más que puedan”, puntualizó.
Sobre las averías resueltas por la CAASD esta semana que recién finalizó, Montás informó que arreglaron un total de 56, en lugares como: residencial Mirador del Oeste, San Gerónimo, Hato Nuevo de Manoguayabo, Mata de Mamón, Invivienda, Alma Rosa II, Carmen Renata III, Villa Fontana, La Isabela y La Zurza.
Mientras que brigadistas de la institución realizaron 7,792 intervenciones al alcantarillado sanitario del Gran Santo Domingo, ocho desobstrucciones de redes, trabajaron en seis válvulas e hicieron un empalme en la última semana.
Las labores de optimización de la red fueron hechas a beneficio de los residentes en: Pantoja, Marginal Las Américas, ensanche La Fe, San Gerónimo y Mata Hambre.
El director Alejandro Montás precisó que estos trabajos de optimización de la red son claves para brindar un servicio cada vez mejor y más humano, en defensa de la salud de la población.
