Santo Domingo. – La producción de agua potable se situó la pasada semana en alrededor de 427 millones de galones diarios, una excelente cifra, informó el director de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), ingeniero Felipe Suberví.
El funcionario destacó que la excelente producción de agua que sirve al Gran Santo Domingo se debe, fundamentalmente, a que los acueductos Valdesia Santo Domingo, Haina Manoguayabo, Isabela, Duey, Isa Mana, Barrera de Salinidad y los campos de pozos del este y norte trabajan en condiciones estables.
«Nuestro principal acueducto, Valdesia Santo Domingo funciona a toda capacidad, con unos 6.3 a 6.40 metros cúbicos por segundo (m³/g) de agua potable, debido a los buenos niveles de las presas de Jigüey y Valdesia», precisó el titular de la Corporación.
Dijo que la presa de Jigüey está en la cota (altura) 539.91 metros sobre el nivel del mar (MSNM), con una máxima de 541.5. MSNM, mientras que Valdesia se ubica en los 147.09 MSNM, de un límite de 150 MSNM, faltando poco para llegar a su tope.
Asimismo, el río Nizao, que alimenta a ambas presas, le aporta un caudal de 9.45 metros cúbicos, además, el embalse de Valdesia, en estos momentos, recibe 22 (m³/g) de líquido.
Corrección de averías e intervención en la red de alcantarillado sanitario
El director de la CAASD detalló que en la semana que acaba de transcurrir, las brigadas de la institución corrigieron más de 320 averías de diferentes diámetros para optimizar las redes y mejorar la distribución del preciado líquido.
En ese sentido, explicó que se realizaron siete desobstrucciones, repararon 10 válvulas y detectaron fugas no visibles intradomiciliarias.
«Para reducir al mínimo la pérdida del preciado líquido, nuestros colaboradores hicieron correcciones en sectores como: Jardines de Engombe, Bienvenido, Julieta Morales, Los Mina, Alma Rosa II, San Isidro, Los Guaricanos, San Felipe Villa Mella, Colinas del Arroyo, entre otros», manifestó el Suberví.
De igual manera, resaltó que el personal de alcantarillado sanitario operó en 14,232 metros lineales de redes, donde se limpiaron 378 registros internos y externos, al tiempo que se realizó mantenimiento a 273 acometidas.
Asimismo, agregó que los equipos de trabajo de la CAASD dieron mantenimiento a cinco acometidas, con el propósito de llevar salud e higiene a la ciudadanía.
«El trabajo en la CAASD no se detiene, pues está activado las 24 horas, los siete días de la semana para brindar calidad de vida a todos los residentes del Gran Santo Domingo», expresó finalmente Felipe Suberví.
