Estudiantes del Liceo Estados Unidos de América conocen avances de Planta de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales Mirador Norte-La Zurza

Santo Domingo. – Con el objetivo de explicar el alcance de la obra y su importancia para toda la sociedad, estudiantes de tercero del bachillerato del Liceo Estados Unidos de América fueron guiados en un recorrido por la Planta de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales Mirador Norte-La Zurza, que construye el Gobierno a través de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD).

El ingeniero Giordano Mancebo, supervisor de planta y colectores señaló a los estudiantes: “Ustedes son la generación que va a cambiar nuestro país, porque es la generación dada a pensar y ver más allá, están ustedes en la Planta de Tratamiento Mirador Norte La Zurza, la más grande de nuestro país”.

Un personal de la CAASD explicó a un aproximado de 90 estudiantes que con esta obra se busca combatir el hacimiento en los sectores del Gran Santo Domingo, así como la recuperación de los ríos Ozama e Isabela.

«Extraordinario, lo que más me impacta es el sistema que tienen y sobre todo el manual, totalmente detallado se ve que tienen una logística bien estudiada, en realidad el futuro del agua tiene un antes y un después con el funcionamiento de esta planta», puntualizó la profesora Rosalía Terrero.

El estudiante David Díaz expresó: “me parecieron muy bien los avances de la obra, en poco tiempo han construido muchas cosas para el mejoramiento de la purificación del agua”.

“Muy interesante, nunca había venido y ver el funcionamiento de la planta es muy bueno para descontaminar el ambiente, además que se utilizará el reciclaje, pues se limpia el agua y produce abono y gas metano”, dijo Josefina Vargas, maestra de ciencias.

Asimismo, la estudiante Nieves Roche señaló que: “lo que se está haciendo aquí es un aporte muy grande porque muchos de los ríos que tenemos están contaminados, pero con esta planta se contribuye al medio ambiente”.

La planta de tratamiento solucionará el problema sanitario de 450,000 personas de 37 barrios del Distrito Nacional y Santo Domingo Norte, se entregará en el primer trimestre del próximo año, a un costo de RD$6 mil millones
