Alejandro Montás recuerda obra entrará en funcionamiento en primer semestre del año 2019
Santo Domingo.- El director general de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), arquitecto Alejandro Montás, encabezó un recorrido por la Planta de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales del Río Ozama (Mirador Norte-La Zurza) que construye el Gobierno, en el que mostró los avances de los trabajos a los principales directores de las corporaciones de acueductos del país y la directiva del Colegio Dominicano de Ingenieros y Agrimensores (CODIA).
Durante el recorrido guiado, el director de la CAASD mostró las instalaciones y les explicó el funcionamiento de la planta, donde puntualizó que la obra hará grandes aportes a la salud, producción de abono orgánico y gas metano para su autogestión, al tiempo que devolverá limpios 27 millones de galones diarios de agua al río Isabela.
“Eso significa también que podríamos exigirles a 241 empresas que están emplazadas en el entorno Ozama e Isabela, y que han sido entes contaminantes por más de 50 años a esos dos afluentes, a conectarse a la Planta de Tratamiento Mirador Norte-La Zurza, de lo contrario, tendrán que construir su propia planta de tratamiento. Usted no puede plantearles la sanción sin la solución y esta es la solución”, sostuvo el director de la CAASD.
“Los que se conecten tienen que pagar el servicio de tratamiento de aguas residuales. Lo que no vamos a permitir, conjuntamente con el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales, es que sigan contaminando el río cuando el Gobierno está haciendo un esfuerzo y una inversión para descontaminarlo. Esta planta le costará al país RD$6,000 millones y se trata de un proyecto de alta rentabilidad social”, prosiguió.
Montás precisó que se le cobrará a las empresas, pero que los ciudadanos se beneficiarán porque ahorrarán los recursos que invertían en salud por enfermedades producto del hacinamiento.
“Eso también le deja al país, porque deja de gastar en hospitales y en medicina por las enfermedades que deja el hacinamiento. Esta planta está construida para la gente y con la gente”, explicó.
El director de la CAASD señaló que la Planta de Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales es una de las grandes obras que entregará el gobierno del Presidente Danilo Medina y tendrá un impacto trascendental en la salud y nivel de vida de 450 mil personas del Gran Santo Domingo.
El director de la CAASD recordó que esta planta será inaugurada y puesta en funcionamiento en el primer semestre del año 2019, no sin antes concienciar a la población sobre el buen uso y cuidado de esta importante obra.
“Nosotros vamos a producir un proceso de concienciación ciudadana para que conjuntamente con esta inversión descontaminemos los ríos Ozama e Isabela; sin la gente no se puede ejecutar un proyecto tan trascendental e integral como éste. No puede haber eficiencia si la gente no participa en su propia salud”, refirió el funcionario.
En dicho escenario, el presidente nacional del Colegio Dominicano de Ingenieros, Arquitectos y Agrimensores (CODIA), arquitecto Guarionex Gómez, indicó que la obra: “es un proyecto que la sociedad necesita, puesto que va a dar salud a la ciudadanía”.
El ingeniero Francisco Marte, miembro del (CODIA), resaltó que: “es un proyecto muy ambicioso en el término social, porque va a descontaminar alrededor de 27,000 metros cúbicos de agua al día que van a ser insertados nueva vez al río Ozama, pero ya limpios, un proceso de saneamiento de estos acuíferos que viene demandando el pueblo dominicano desde hace muchos años”.
En el recorrido también participaron el ingeniero Rafael Martínez, director general de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Moca (CORAMOCA); ingeniero Brito Rincón, director general de la Corporación de Acueducto de Boca Chica (CORAABO); y el arquitecto Manuel de Jesús Cedeño, director general de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de La Romana (COAAROM), el ingeniero José Onésimo Reyes, director de la Corporación de Acueductos y Alcantarillados de Puerto Plata (CORAAPPLATA), y José Ignacio Porres, representante de empresa Incatema Consulting, entre otros.
Los visitantes saludaron esta obra, que vendrá en beneficio de la población del Gran Santo Domingo.
