Santo Domingo.- La Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) continúa con las conferencias “Cultura del Agua”, para concienciar a la población sobre cómo preservar el preciado líquido, y en esta ocasión les tocó el turno a los estudiantes del Centro Educativo Manuela Diez, en el municipio Santo Domingo Oeste.

“El objetivo del programa es crear una cultura que despierte e incida en la conciencia, formación y espíritu de cada uno de ustedes sobre la importancia del agua”, explicó la encargada de la División de Cultura del Departamento de Desarrollo y Promoción Social de la CAASD, Elizabeth Sánchez.

Asimismo, Sánchez, quién estuvo a cargo de la conferencia, manifestó que la CAASD no sólo se encarga de ofrecer agua potable, sino también del saneamiento y tratamiento de aguas residuales.

Durante la jornada educativa se expusieron los temas: concepto del agua y su ciclo natural, proceso de potabilización y costo de este, ahorro y buen uso del agua, cómo proteger las fuentes del agua, entre otros.

“La información me pareció muy importante para cuidar el agua y ayudar ahorrarla. A mis familiares, que cuiden el agua y la utilicen para cosas importantes”, dijo la estudiante Paola Marién.

El alumno de cuarto grado de educación primaria Thomas Arturo sustentó: “Nosotros aprendimos que sin el agua no podemos vivir y también que debemos cuidarla porque el 70% de nuestro planeta es agua y el 30% es tierra”.

“Me pareció muy interesante, sobre todo, para nuestros niños, que siempre en nuestro centro estamos tratando de que cuiden al agua”, expresó la coordinadora del plantel, Wendy Pascual, quién además recomendó que utilicen el líquido con responsabilidad.

La conferencia, que educó y culturizó a decenas de estudiantes, fue coordinada por el Departamento de Desarrollo y Promoción Social, que dirige Jaquelin Lahoz.
