Santo Domingo.- La Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) y el Ministerio de Defensa garantizaron este jueves la seguridad de los acueductos y embalses que suplen el agua potable al Gran Santo Domingo, durante y después de la temporada ciclónica.
El ministro de Defensa, teniente general Rubén Paulino Sem, ofreció su apoyo al director general de la CAASD, arquitecto Alejandro Montás para garantizar la vigilancia militar en los centros de abastecimiento de agua potable en el Distrito Nacional y la provincia Santo Domingo.
Montás precisó que el agua es un recurso de alta seguridad que hay que proteger y que para ello se requiere del apoyo del Ministerio de Defensa.
“Hablamos mucho de la sequía, del agua como un recurso tan importante para la vida y para la salud y hablamos de defender esos recursos hídricos que cada día son más escasos y que cada día se requiere que la comunidad y la población asuma una defensa y un uso responsable del ahorre el agua que llega a cada hogar”, precisó Montás.
El funcionario dijo que hará todos los esfuerzos que sean necesarios para mejorar cada día el servicio que ofrece cada día la CAASD.
En tanto que el Ministro de Defensa, quien felicitó la forma al director de la CAASD ha manejado en esta época de sequía el suministro del agua potable.
Garantizó que las Fuerzas Armadas darán seguridad a todas las instalaciones del organismo rector del agua potable en el Gran Santo Domingo.
“Nosotros como fuerzas armadas somos responsables de dar seguridad a todas las instalaciones vitales de la CAASD”, aseguró.
Puso a la disposición de la CAASD las tres instituciones que conforma el Ministerio de Defensa para fortalecer la seguridad de los grandes embalses de agua para que no puedan ser contaminados por individuos.
Añadió que la institución dispone de 62 mil miembros para dar respuesta a la seguridad que sé que se requiera en los centros de abastecimientos de agua potable.
Paulino Sem realizó este jueves una visita de cortesía al director de la CAASD, para manifestar su apoyo a las acciones que viene realizando el arquitecto Alejandro Montás para garantizar la seguridad de los acueductos y las fuentes de abastecimiento de agua potable en el Gran Santo Domingo.
