Santo Domingo.- El director general de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), arquitecto Alejandro Montás, y el director del Programa de Medicamentos Esenciales, Central de Apoyo Logístico (PROMESE/CAL), Antonio Peña Mirabal, encabezaron la inauguración de una ampliada y remozada Farmacia del Pueblo a beneficio de los 5,000 colaboradores con que cuenta esta Corporación responsable de servir el agua potable a la población del Gran Santo Domingo.
El establecimiento consta de 33 metros cuadrados, dentro de los cuales serán ofertados a los trabajadores de la CAASD diversos medicamentos a bajo costo para tratar procesos gripales, hipertensión, diabetes, dolor de cabeza, entre muchos otros.
El director General CAASD dijo que con el acto entregaban “una Farmacia del Pueblo totalmente equipada, rehabilitada y con todos los medicamentos esenciales que requiere y demanda cualquier persona afectada en su salud. Estamos cada día en la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo dando pasos certeros para fortalecer la salud de nuestros empleados”.
Asimismo, Montás destacó el impacto económico positivo que esta ampliada y remozada Farmacia del Pueblo tendrá en los empleados de la institución que dirige, al poder adquirir medicamentos de calidad a precios económicos.
Comunicó también que la CAASD dispone de un consultorio médico, una unidad odontológica, sala de lactancia, un club maravilloso, un nuevo comedor que se recientemente se inauguró, mientras resaltó que la producción del agua potable que producen es la más sana del país.
Por su lado, el director general de PROMESE/CAL, Antonio Peña, dijo: “Este acto en el cual hoy entregamos la Farmacia del Pueblo que ya existía, pero en condiciones muy estrechas, tiene para nosotros un alto significado porque es uno de los puntales de la política pública que el gobierno del presidente Danilo Medina Sánchez ha puesto en ejecución para atender las necesidades de los sectores más vulnerables de nuestra sociedad”.
Explicó que dentro de las metas presidenciales que le ha trazado el mandatario está la responsabilidad de instalar una Farmacia del Pueblo en cada distrito municipal del país y que ya en este año llevan 31 nuevos establecimientos de estos instalados en comunidades apartadas.
El acto contó con la presencia de la licenciada Nolmis Sánchez, directora de Farmacia del Pueblo PROMESE, ingeniera Ana Aquino, encargada del Departamento de Ingeniería e Infraestructura PROMESE, el doctor Raúl Fontana, director general del Hospital Municipal Mata Hambre, doctor Samuel Álvarez, encargado del Dispensario Médico CAASD, y la encargada de Recursos Humanos de la Corporación, licenciada Rosa Maura, entre otros invitados.
