CAASD inicia segunda etapa del ciclo de conferencias sobre uso eficiente del agua

Corporación refuerza charlas educativas sobre el preciado líquido

Santo Domingo.- La Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD) inició la segunda etapa del ciclo de conferencias sobre el uso eficiente del agua potable, manejo de aguas residuales y pago del servicio, para concienciar a jóvenes y niños sobre el correcto manejo del preciado líquido.

La primera charla de esta segunda etapa, a cargo de la Dirección Comercial de la CAASD, fue llevada al Centro Educativo Nicolás Ureña del barrio La Venta, en el municipio Santo Domingo Oeste.

En dicho plantel, 52 niños de quinto y sexto grado de educación primaria interactuaron con el equipo de la Corporación que les explicó, mediante divertidos recursos audiovisuales, cómo convertirse en vigilantes del agua en cada uno de sus hogares a fin de preservar ese recurso vital.

“Estas charlas tienen el objetivo de fomentar actitudes positivas en los estudiantes para el uso eficiente y manejo adecuado de este recurso natural, que es imprescindible para la vida y que sean multiplicadores de estos principios en sus hogares y entornos”, explicó el director general de la CAASD, arquitecto Alejandro Montás.

Añadió que “pese a la disponibilidad del agua como recurso natural en el país, el desperdicio del agua potable que tanto le cuesta al Estado producir, su uso en el riego de la misma, alto consumo y la precariedad del saneamiento se traducen en la escasez de ésta”.

Explicó que “por estas razones todos debemos comprometernos con la preservación de este recurso natural, su uso eficiente una vez que es potabilizado y el pago responsable del servicio que es llevado a los hogares”.

Por su lado, Olga Acosta, orientadora de la Escuela Nicolás Ureña, dio la bienvenida al equipo de la CAASD y agradeció a la Corporación por llevar a los estudiantes dichos conocimientos que buscan sensibilizarlos sobre la importancia de vigilar el uso eficiente del agua potable.

En la actividad se eligieron seis niños, quienes fueron juramentados como “vigilantes del agua”, los cuales en sus casas, escuela y comunidad se esforzarán porque sea preservado el preciado líquido. Asimismo, recibieron las orientaciones para sensibilizar a los demás sobre la necesidad de cuidar el agua, pues es un recurso esencial para la vida del ser humano sobre el planeta.

Con el reforzamiento de estas charlas educativas, la CAASD busca fomentar en la población la cultura de ahorro del agua, para beneficio de todos.
