Brigadas agilizan labores para restablecer servicio de agua potable en los sectores afectados
Santo Domingo. -El director general de la Corporación del Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santo Domingo (CAASD), ingeniero Felipe Suberví, informó que las brigadas de la institución se mantienen laborando día y noche para solucionar la avería provocada por un camión perforador de una empresa privada el pasado domingo en una línea de distribución de agua potable del sistema Valdesia en sector de Los Ríos, del Distrito Nacional.
Suberví, ha estado supervisando los trabajos ejecutados por los técnicos y obreros de la CAASD, en las proximidades de la avenida coronel Lora Fernández, del referido sector capitalino.
“Se trata de una avería significativa en una tubería del sistema Valdesia, por donde circulan unos 70 millones de galones de agua diario. Solo el drenar el agua tan pronto fue cerrada la vía de abastecimiento y retirar la capa protectora se tomó un tiempo prudente”, expresó.
Asimismo, el funcionario explicó que, al iniciar los trabajos para solucionar la avería, los técnicos se encontraron con que las tuberías estaban cubiertas por una loza de hormigón armado de 20 centímetro de espesor, implicando esto un mayor esfuerzo y más horas de trabajos, y la utilización de equipos especiales.
“Dada la naturaleza de la falla hemos tenido que valernos de retroexcavadora, retromartillo y compresores”, agregó el director de la CAASD.
Dijo que, una vez retirada la capa protectora de la línea afectada, drenar el agua, excavar y retirar otra protección de aproximadamente 60 centímetros, fue detectada una rotura circular de unas 8 pulgadas de diámetro, se limpió el área de trabajo y se tomó la medida de la pieza que se está confeccionando para colocarla y resolver la avería.
Para asistir a los residentes en los sectores afectados, la institución inició un operativo de reparto de agua con los camiones-cisterna de la institución con el objetivo de palear la escasez que les afecta.
Se espera que en las próximas horas la CAASD culmine con los trabajos, y se restablezca el servicio de agua potable en los sectores afectados.Departamento de Comunicaciones
